“An error occurred when activating the license: Error writing v2c – InvalidUpdateData”

This message appears in the following situations:

  1. When, instead of updating the license with the v2c update file sent by email or downloaded from the website, you are entering the initial activation code. In this case, you must make sure that you have the v2c update file required to update the license according to the instructions provided. For further information, see the FAQ How is the software license manually activated with Ergo/IBV?
  2. You may be applying the update on a different computer from the one where the license was first activated. In order to update the software license, find the computer on which the license was first activated and apply the update on it. For further information, see the FAQ How can I know on which computer of my company is the purchased software license activated, which version and how many simultaneous uses it has?
  3. You have not realized that the update has been already applied and you are trying to apply it for a second time. You can check it by entering this link in the web browser: http://localhost:1947/_int_/features.html --> if you are updating a commercial license to, for instance, Ergo v15, a record line with value 15 should appear in the “Features” column on this screen.
